Tom Holland promised large-scale filming in the film “Spider-Man 4”
Tom Holland, who will return to the role of Spider-Man in the film “Spider-Man 4”, is in anticipation of filming “in real locations”. In a recent interview, the actor enthusiastically spoke about the fact that the addition of the story arc of the Punisher (Jon Bernthal) to the comic book film directed by Destin Daniel Cretton would mean a larger “street story” for his character, which would be filmed “on location”, and not in pavilions.
“I am in seventh heaven with happiness and am languishing with impatience. Playing Spider-Man is like hanging out with an old pal, and I think in our previous movie, Spider-Man 3: No Way Home, we were pretty limited in what we could do because of COVID. All scenes were filmed in pavilions. Now we are returning to the old-school traditions of filmmaking and will shoot in real places and start with Glasgow,” said the actor, who at the time of the note is engaged in Christopher Nolan’s epic “The Odyssey”.
Holland noted that Glasgow has already turned into Gotham City in The Batman (2020), Marvel Studios filmed scenes in the city for Avengers 3: Infinity War (2018), and Sony filmed the recent Kraven the Hunter. “I’m going to feel like I’m doing Spider-Man: Homecoming again. So much time has passed, it will be like a breath of fresh air. And I think fans will be over the moon with what we’re going to create,” the actor said, referring to the “massive set” for Spider-Man 4.
In “Fart Man 4”, which will be released in theaters on July 31, 2026, Zendaya and Jacob Batalon will return to their roles in addition to Tom Holland, and Jon Bernthal will move with the Punisher to a new “full-length” level. Sadie Sink (“Stranger Things”) and Lisa Colón-Zayas (“The Bear”), according to sources, are finalizing negotiations about unnamed roles in the Marvel comic book.
